After more than 10 years of cruising in and around the
'Pacific' the current crew is preparing for a new challenge. We are
concluding our time on board our lovely yacht 'Alexandra' and after a
last maintenance and painting job we want to hand over the boat to new
owners.
Januari 2009
at Dickson Marine Refits boatyard in Nelson NZ the superstructure and
the wet surface have received a fresh coat of paint. The rigging is
thoroughly inspected and tested and where needed replaced. New modern
heavy duty cruising sails have been ordered and will be tested with
Doyle Sails in April.
'Alexandra' a Van de Stadt Samoa aluminium sailing
yacht, 49 foot/14.6 meter, is completely equipped for 'blue water cruising'
and available to explore the Pacific starting in May 2009 (end of
cyclone season).
For enthousiastic ocean sailors the 'Pacific' offers a
sailing area with a lot of alternatives like:
- Sailing along the coasts of New Zealand and Australia
- Cruising along several of the islands and people in the 'Pacific' e.g. Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu, New
Caledonia
However, if no new owner has shown up in May 2009 we
continue our circumnavigation via Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Australia
(Darwin), Indonesia,
Malaysia, Thailand and the Red Sea to the
Mediterranean (May 2009 - Juli
2010). Serious interested candidates are welcome on board Alexandra on
part of this itinerary for an in depth introduction.
